West Norfolk MENCAP

West Norfolk Mencap works to support people with learning disabilities, their families and carers, by providing:
• Gateway clubs
• One-to-one befriending
• Advice and support
• Grants to individuals to support and promote independent living

West Norfolk Mencap was established in 1964 and is an entirely independent self financing registered charity [charity number: 226253].  It is affiliated to the Royal Mencap Society and fulfils their governance standards and policies and procedures for risk management. All staff and volunteers are required to provide referees and complete a CRB disclosure.   Although sharing the same name as the national society it does not receive any form of central funding and is therefore dependant on income generated through its own efforts.
